A shelf that holds itself in place by pressure alone. Turn the tube until it expands from 9.1 inches to 11.8 inches (23 to 30 cm) and it locks between two side panels. Nothing is drilled, nothing is screwed, and the walls stay unmarked when you move it.
The frame pairs steel tubing with a durable PP platform, so it takes folded sweaters, handbags, spare linen or pantry tins without bowing. Because it is sized to the gap rather than to the room, it works inside a wardrobe, a kitchen cupboard or a shoe rack, anywhere a tall empty space is going to waste above a stack.
Give the platform a wipe with a damp cloth now and then, and re-tighten the tube if the fit loosens after a few months of daily use.
